The King

King George, that is. Del and I went to see George Strait that same weekend as Rylee's birthday - which is why her birthday party wasn't until the following week. :)

It was the inaugural performance in the new fancy shmancy Cedar Park Center. Funny thing though (not really funny) - they didn't plan the parking well. After waiting 30 minutes in line to turn left into the venue, the officer directing traffic said we need to go to another entrance. After another 30 minutes of waiting to enter THAT way, the lovely officer there said the parking lot was already full. There was no more parking anywhere. We were directed to drive back down to Target, and they'll have buses to shuttle us to the Center.

What a mess. After boarding the bus, and sitting on it for another 20 minutes (gridlock) some genius sitting in the back asked if the driver would open the door so he could just walk through the traffic. It only took ONE person. Thank you, Person. The whole bus unloaded in the middle of the road, and we all walked the 2 miles to the Center.

We missed Leann Womack completely, but sat down just in time for the King to make his entrance. Thank goodness this venue had SEATS. I was soooo glad I didn't wear heels that night.

It was a great concert. Highly recommended. Also fun to watch all the old folks dance around and sing. George has been around the block a time or two.

Good times.
